I have a customer with and ACS and Partner mail VS that was hit. I replaced the ACS and VM. I mirrored the programming or the ACS and VM. All is working fine. However the customer would like to have line 4 answered by the m-box of ext-17. Line 4 is not being answered by the AA. and after 5 rings Verizon answer call answers. I have assigned line ownership in the VM for line 4 to m-box 17 and matched all the programming in the old switch. the customer says that the answer call was canceled and that the partner mail is the only mail box on that line/ext. I explained to the customer that when I first got to the site the first thing I did was check the lines going into the ACS with my butt set and line 4 had stutter dial tone witch leads me to believe that line 4 was always answered by answer call. After he started to check the messages and saw how it was working he asked if I could get line 4 to be answered by m-box 17. Witch brings back to my question. How can I get m-box 17 to answer line 4? Line 4 rings on ext-17 and in the vm cover group and fwds to vm after 3 rings. Also selector code 5 goes to ext 17 and if that’s not answered the call will go to m-box 17. (only if the call is routed by the AA)

Two ways:
VMS Line Owner - #206-7-LL-3, the line must ring on the phone, use line owner inside the VS Mail to specify which mailbox answers.
VMS Line Cover - #206-7-LL-2, #208-LL-XX, and the line must ring on the phone.

This is how I currently have it set up. when I go back I'll try the second suggestion.
Thanks

The difference between option 1 and 2: If the extension uses DND. Option 1 (Line Ownership), the line will still ring at the other phones before covering to voice mail. Option 2 (Line Cover), the call will go to voice mail immediately.
