Trying to get a noise cancelling handset for a Partner 18 but. phone from clarity/Plantronics, & they want to know if the xmtr is carbon, electret, or dynamic. Beats me! anyone know the answer? You'd think they would know the answer to that, but NO.

I know it's not carbon. Probably electret but I can't be sure.

Why don't you go to Sandman. He has them and knows what to give you if you tell him what it's for.

The 18D handset uses electret for transmit, as do most modern telephone sets. The receiver side (earpiece) is considered dynamic (it's just a small speaker). You're still much better off ordering the one built for the 18D, like ipofficeguy suggests.

I have gone both ways. Check the price on the Avaya part if you can find someone who will sell you one. Sandman has them made for the phone and is the same quality as the Avaya part for less money. And he will sell to you.
