I have an IP Office 403 (SW 3.2(61)) with a DS 30 expansion module that just stopped working. All I did was swap a couple of extensions physically from the DS30 and the control unit. Tech support helped me DTE the DS30 and it says TFTP poll sent but will not grab it's software/firmware and boot up. I have the TFTP server defined (the VMpro PC) and manager open. It's like there is no communication between the DS30 and the control unit. Suggestions?

So, you are not seeing anything on the tftp window? When you plug it in, what color is on the light in the front?

WHen you hook up the DTE, do you get the info passing through on hyperterminal? Can you get a cursor prompt? I have never had to DTE an expansion module, but it should be the same as a control unit. (See the knowledgebase for DTE procedures.)

Also, make sure that the "working directory" is mapped to the same folder where your .bin files are.(generally: C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager)

Maybe try the "iptel" tftp server from avaya. At least if the IPO is requesting a file that isn't in that directory, that tftp server will show the name of the file and the fact that it couldn't find it.

Yes. Did all that. Nothing showing in the TFTP view and light on front is red. Wound up replacing it with a 16 port DS expansion module and everything is working. Anyone know if there is anyone out there who may be able to repair the bad module? Thanks All!! John
