This is the first Legend that I've worked on, someone else set it up, but because I'm their support guy who's there day to day and I have some phone system experience (NEC and Asterisk mostly) they keep asking me to fix/change things and until now I've managed to find something workable.
At night, when the auto attendant answers they want an option to call the shipping dept where it will ring phones in the shipping offices at each end of the building, all the loading dock phones, and over the paging system. I set up a group (791) and assigned some members to it starting with the ring over page extension. When I dial it only the ring over page extension rings, and none of the other extensions seem to be able to pick up the call.
Looking around on here I saw someone mention a hunt type of "All ring" but the only hunt types listed for me are linear and circular. The Legend I'm using seems to be release 4.0. Am I going to have to learn how to upgrade or is there a setting I'm missing or a whole different approach to get the same result?
Thanks in advance

Upgrade......one of the Avaya guys will give you the specifics but it was one of the Magix releases (beyone R1 i think) that finally offered ring all groups.

Thanks for the quick reply
Any tips on where I should start looking for a tutorial on the upgrade process? I've got a CD full of Merlin Docs in PDFs and they've been somewhat helpful. A quick glance through them didn't turn up any upgrade stuff though.

Group ring was not available until Release 4 of Magix. If the client wants VMS coverage of the calling group, ALL of the member extensions must have an ES2 button programmed to log out of the group. Which means your Ring over Page extension will prevent any calls going to voice mail until / unless you actually put a set in. You cannot upgrade Legend to Magix. It is a processor replacement. AND depending on what kind of sets are used, the circuit boards may not be recognized as valid boards by the new processor. They may still work (I've never tried) but I think that would leads to problems.
Edit: You may want to consider using cover buttons if there are less than 8 stations you need to ring. You could put a permanent cover button on the night ring extension and forget about it. No worries about forwarding to voice mail or needing to upgrade.

I'm not concerned with getting the caller back to the VMS, they already had a chance to leave a message at this point.
I just need all the extensions to ring and be able to answer the call.
4 Loading Dock Phones, 1 Ring over Page Device, 4 Shipping office phones makes a total of 9, but I could probably skip a shipping office phone if there's already one in that room ringing.
I'd rather not require the user to press a button to answer but if that's the only way to do it....
How do you program a button on an analog extension(For the ring over page device)?
EDIT: Heck how do you program a "Cover Button"? I'm not finding that in WinSPM or the docs I mentioned.

You failed to mention what type of Tel sets you have.????...If the system has the older Merlin analog sets...you won't be able to simply upgrade to a Magix...

Coverage Button: At the telephone, Spkr, #00, press the button to program, dial *40, dial the extension number you want to cover, press the button under the display where it says Enter, spkr.
From WinSPM, go to centralized telephone programming, program extension, extension number and enter, click on the button, *40 and the extension number to cover, enter.
So send you 0-out calls to the extension number of the ring-over-page device, add cover buttons for that extension number on up to 8 other extensions, and anyone else hearing the ring-over-page can dial #9-extension number to get the call (or can have a dedicated pickup button)

We've got several different kinds of phones on the system. I'd have to walk around the whole building to find out all the types. I'd be very surprised if the really old ones were compatible with the Magix though.
I think any sort of hardware upgrade is probably out of the question. I was assuming that a software upgrade would be enough to add the "All ring" hunt type.
