Hi,
I have a client with a Partner r3.1 and he has a Partner Mail 1.9.2 (according to the sticker on the side) sitting around that he would like to use. Are these two units compatible? I know the Partner Mail is an old one, but if he is willing to invest the time into seeing if it will work for him I am happy to do what I can for him.
What is the best way to confirm the vm unit is working? (hopefully before spending much time changing programming on the phone system)He doesn't have the remote maintenance unit. I have a manual for Partner Mail R.3. Do you think I can stumble through setup with the newer manual?
All we need the system to do is answer after a few rings and give callers an option to leave a message in a general mailbox or transfer to another extension (with mailbox) It's a low call volume office and lumber mill with a dozen or so extensions. Only 5 or 6 mailboxes needed.
Thank You for any guidance.

The way to test it is to first power it up and see if it boots without errors as indicated by the LEDs. Then I would connect it to an unused system port with a line cord, program that port in #505,7 then go to an extension, intercom 777 and see if it picks up.
