I want to setup the manual signaling function on some office phones (Avaya ACS 7.0). The phones have ringing turned off on all incoming lines. Should the signaling work on the phones? Right now the phones just have a beep when I try to signal them. On one phone that I have the ringing set to immediate on functions properly (beep then connect).

Thanks for the help.
Billy C.

That is what you get-a beep. Not going to ring.

But shuldn't it connect after the beep so that I can talk to the called party without them picking up the handset? The one phone that still has lines ringing works that way but the ones with no lines ringing doesn't. Just the beep then silence.

Try a DSS button- Intercom * XX. Make sure everybody has their HFAI button on.

If you make a manual signal button, and press it while your handset is in the cradle, it will beep at the other extension. If you lift your handset, press one of your Intercom buttons, then press the same manual signal button, you will ring the other extension, and they can of course answer your call. If you make the manual signal button include the * before the extension number, it will automatically do the voice announce.
