Have an Avaya IP SOE system. System upgraded have (2) 5420 and (1) 5402 set. System works fine. Added a third 5420 and display just says please wait. Did I miss a point along the way. The set is R4. Does the set have to upgraded. I tried to do that with no luck. PS other set's are a 5. Thanks Tony

Yes, your phone will have to update when you first plug it up.

This is a common problem. You will need to have that phone upgrade. Do you have vm pro? If not, you will need to set up a temporary laptop or pc as the tftp server, and input that IP adress into the tftp server ip field.

Make sure the working directory is correct and opene the ftp log viewer. You should see is pass a file...

Let us know if it doesnt upgrade, these are pretty vague instructions, but if you are familiar with IPO, they will make sense.

Nope. Sometimes Managers tftp server doesn't play well with the .bin files for the 54xx phones.

Try using Avaya's Tftp server instead.

And what's really crazy....same scenario happened to me....

Then, the next time I tried to load it, I couldnt get it to work with avaya's tftp server, so I used managers, and it worked fine. CRAZY....
