Hi All,

I have a secretary trying to train a new employee in a very noisy area. I am trying to get both users on the same call without using the speaker phone.

I have an employee on a 8410D Avaya Digital phone. I also have a headset hooked up to this phone using a 500A1 Adapter.

You cannot use the handset and headset at one time. I'd like a second person to be able to listen and speak.

Is there some kind of a "Y" unit I can use on either the handset or the headset so the temp can learn?

I know I can set up a connector in the jack to have two phones function at the same time but that would include disassembling and reassembling the headset piece multiple times per day.

Any idea on an easy way to do this?

Thanks, Rhonda!

I'll take a look at your finding.

Thank you!
Rhonda

I checked the above link and that Y connector is what I would need, except that is for Plantronics equipment. The 500A1 Adaptor is an Avaya brand. I don't think the ends would match up.

What I did find as an option is a 2-way handset splitter. I believe this will work for what I need it for.

Thanks again. Rhonda

Rhonda, I have used these in a past life on 8410's. I believe the Avaya units are just rebranded Plantronics so I don't think that there would be a miss match in connectors.

Good to know, thanks.

The photo made the connector end look much different. I've decided to go with the handset splitter at this point but I will keep the headset splitter in mind for reference.

Thanks liquidvw and DayTech!
