I'm here in Wisconsin. This is what I get when I dial the above numbers:

x Your call cannot be completed as dialed.

x You have dialed a number which cannot be reached from your calling area.

x The no is: 0000000001 (That's not right)

x This toll free no. has been disconnected. No further information is available.

x Tells me the no. I'm calling from
x Tells me the no. I'm calling from
x Tells me the Long Distance provider of the line.
x Tells me the Local Toll provider of the line.

Their are many ways to accomplish this. The easiest is to try 211,311,611,811 ussually one of these will work...that is up here in Virginia. Their also is another very long number that I works all the time but I have it on my buttset...so if none of these work let me know and I will get it for you.

You have to be careful trying to experiment using the X11 codes. In many major cities, to include Washington, DC, 311 is the police department's non-emergency number, but it still goes to the 911 dispatch, just with a lower priority.

In some Virginia locations, 811 is translated to 911 to accommodate people who may have misdialed in a crisis (I found out the hard way) testing a fax line for my sister. Within five minutes, the police showed up, completely lit up, requiring ID's from everyone!

Verizon has pretty much done away with the 211 or 311 codes in the former GTE service areas (or is at least phasing them out). 811 still works in the former Bell Atlantic areas, but who knows how long that will last?

mine wont record the numbers if it dosnt have recption
what I have done is put the phone in the truck , made 10 calls gone out , recorded the numbers then done it agian if necessary

these threads are nice but when I relly need them I dont have the numbers with me (

Sorry about the mis-typing, old fat fingers.

Great idea about putting the cell in the truck if you are alone.

Also very easy is just call someone in an office that has caller ID.

The MCI number is the best if it works everywhere,
we have not had any trouble with the 444 and 555, didn't know that didn't work everywhere, sorry.
