Customer says some calls go to Voice Mail on 1 Ring. Can you tell me what program controls the number of rings before a call goes to voice mail. Thanks

Just 2 thoughts:
Check to see if DND is turned on for the extension. Also check to make sure that the extension is still "18" in the system.

By default Cover delay is 3 rings. Is that the only one with 1 ring into VM?

all 30 telephone voice mails are set to 3 rings on primary cover delay. Should I be looking at group cover delay?

Take a look if somebody initiated CF into 770 by mistake. You can take a look in Cover delay but I doubt if that was changed.

Well, you can't forward to a calling group, but you CAN forward to a Voice Mail port's extension number. Just another reason to set the system up in Set-Up Space, and renumber extensions from there.
If you have WinSPM, do a print of the extension, and if it is forwarded, it will show up there.
Or, just go to the extension, lift the handset and dial #33 and its own extension number, to cancel any forwarding. See if that clears it up.

5/28/2009 I made a call in to the Merlin Messaging voice mail system to check on the problem of calls going to voice mail immediately and found that ext 18 which is the operator and ext 28 indeed had calls going to voice mail immediately. I made a 2nd round of calls to the voice mail system and this time it rang 5 times before it went to voice mail. The Telephone system was done around 7:00 Am EST when the office was closed. The office does not open until 9:00 am EST. They don’t know how to activate Do not disturb or call Forwarding.
Yesterday 5/27/2009 I had the same problem with ext #40. 34, 26 during business hours, after testing, it did not happened again.
The voice mail problem started after I change the system from Key to Pool/hybrid. I have check the Cover Delay programming for all the extensions and they are set to 5. The Voice Mail has 8 Ports. 2 New Co lines were also added to the voice Mail System.
