I have a customer that switched to a PRI from regular 1FBs and analog DID's. The main number was with the 1FBs in hunt and rang 16 phones. Now that they switched they cannot ring all 16 phones as a main line. They can do a cover, but the Legend is limited to 8 extensions. I was thinking that they can convert the PRI to a T1 and then fragment the first six channels to be loop start with the main number being one of these and then programming a line pool with an immediate ring on all phones. This will ring the main number like it did before. Then having the next 4 channels be tie E&M or something that can route DIDs. This will route their DID's like the 800DID card did. Is it possible to fragment the T1 card like this on a Legend? Is there a better way to make the main number on PRI ring all phones immediately? The calling groups are only linear, most idle, and circular.

You can do the way you presented but you loosing CID.
You can do Cover for 8 phones and then one of the phone assign to another 8 as well. It will give you ability to have them ring all. You can assign a Night Ringing group and keep system in the Night mode but working as a Day mode if client is not using Night mode at all. You can upgrade to Rel. 4.0 and have Broadcast Hunt group to ring all phones simultaneously.

This is a release 7 Legend and I did not see any broadcast option for the calling groups, just linear, circular, and most idle in both programming and in the manual. Is there a broadcast option? I also thought of the night option, but how do you get the main number which is on PRI now assigned to the night group and will other DIDs funcion normally? Also the customer does not like the cover option and prefers the way that it functioned when it was on analog service.

Legend does not have group ring as an option - as well, group ring on a Magix does not have voice mail coverage as a backup if no one answers the call, unless EVERYONE in the group logs out.

You could fiddle with Shared System Access, except the Operator position can't participate in the fun.

If voice mail coverage isn't needed, you can use group coverage, and make the extensions group coverage receivers.

If we upgrade to a Magix 3.0, it will allow all 16 phones to ring. Do these phones need to log into the group or are they just assigned?
