This last week I set up my partner messaging Rel 7 to work with unified messaging to send the vm to the email. My problem is the partner messaging keeps dropping the connection with software which runs the unified messaging? Any idea? Thanks Mark

Is your UM resiting on a dedicated PC? That's the only way we will set it up for a customer and support it. Either they supply a dedicated PC or we will for additional cost.

I would look for network issues and/or anti-virus programs blocking the UM PC. I've never had a issue, so maybe others can be of more help. Sorry.

thanks, I thought the anti-virus program also and made sure this pc had no anti virus installed. It is networked with static ip from pc to vm. just not sure why the network would keep losing that connection?

I know this is a stupid question, but do you have a crossover cable going to the UM PC? And could you have an IP address conflict on the network?

I did check the cable and it is a reg cat 5 to the switch. I will ask the IT person about a conflict with the IP address? Thanks.

You should have a x-over cable from the PM to the PC.

It should be a crossover only if the Messaging is plugged directly into the PC. If it is plugged into the LAN (which it would have to be for UM) it will be a straight through patch cable.
Consider the Messaging a PC, as the NIC is the same.

Ok sorry its taken me a few days to get back with you guys. The IT department found an IP conflict with a printer. no problem fixed and back up running with the UM to PM. Now the problems is after an hour or two the partner messaging application loses connection with the PM system and gives the connection lost on the computer. Restart the service no problem for an hour or two. Am I missing something that keeps them talking when there is little activity? Any help would be great. At&t which supports the network is looking to see if there is a network problem causing the interuption? Thanks Mark
