I understand where Hal came from with his original answer.
The OLDER 820 Units didn't have any such features.
Then, along came the 820D+ and it had features way ahead of its time.
I forget what all was needed, but it seems there was a certain release that was required, and perhaps a piece of hardware as well.

The Merlin Plus was a great line. I remember when the Release 2 came out and got one. There were cool add-ons for it too. I had the Merlin Plus data collector for SMDR, and the Merlin Attendant. I always wanted to try the Merlin Identifier, but never could find one. I guess they were extremely rare. Hey merlinman, how well did they work?

Honestly, it's been so long ago, I really can't remember. It seems as though someone had one in their inventory last year and asked me to identify it.
As far as the CF feature, it would totally hang the line(s) up you were using if you didn't get forward disconnect from the CO.
I recall one client back in AT&T days that had that problem, and in very short order he was able to get the PUC to squeeze the local Telco to fix that issue. He thought he was KING!

Busy Buster....
Now here's a little known fact:
The VERY First version of Merlin II had Busy Buster.
The day before it was introduced, we were told to go through our manuals and rip out the pages that referenced it, and then put in some "Overlay" pages to replace them.
When we sold it in Mexico, it was a GREAT FEATURE, due to the lack of facilities down there at the time.
