I have two IP Office Systems in different buildings that work together via VPN and have the Advanced Small Community Networking licenses installed.
One receptionist answers all incoming calls for both locations. My customer has asked me if they can park calls and have the two locations pick them up at the other locations when paged.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? How can calls parked at location 1 in system 1 be accessed from system 2 and vice versa?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you actualy have a small community network? If yes your Park feature is shared and if it doesnt work you have to let us know how you are using it on each site and how many Park instances do you have enabled for each user.

I believe that they do...but how would I tell? All of the extensions, etc. are shared between the systems and I can add them, for example in hunt groups, etc. The vendor that originally set this up is no longer in the picture...
What I would really like to do is setup the park areas to be shared between the two facilities. Is there an easy way to do that? It would allow me to accomplish my objectives.

It is setup according to the Avaya small community networking job aid that I downloaded.

You can not park a call that both sites can see.
But, there is a work around for all things.
You can create a short code that would go across the SCN and that dials the park code for that site. The drawback is that the site that sent the call, can not see or get the park timeout alarm.
So, we need to first know what you are willing to compromise with, and what release and hardware you have.

I am willing to do that. It's at least a bone to throw them!
The system is an IP500 with current firmware 4.1 (15). Is that enough information?

Site Auses short code: 801 Park Call 801 L/g zero
They pick that up by: *801 UnPark Call 801 L/G zero
So on the remote site, you would make a code that goes through the IP trunk, and dials 801 or *801.
So site b would look like: 1801 Park Call 801 L/G of the IP group between sites So that way the B site can park a call at A, and then page them. If they have Park buttons for 801, they would see it. OR, they just dial *801
If someone wanted to pick a call back up that they parked on system A, from site be, the short code would be something like: *1801 UnPark Call 801 L/G ot eh IP trunk group between sites.
So all you are doing is making codes that dial codes on the other system.
Just be sure you pick codes that arent goping to conflict with anything.

I am going to have to ask for a little hand holding. The line number for site B is 20 and it is the same number (20) for site A to access site B.
The current short code to park a call is *37*N#.
Can you tell me exactly what I would need to add, short codes, etc. and where to put it in the system? I apologize for my lack of knowledge on the IP Office system.

If both sites have an IP trunk of group 20, then you can make the code the same on both systems
Make a new code of whatever you want/have available.
EX: *99 Park Call *37*1# l/g 20
And also *98 UnPark Call *38*1# l/g/ 20
That is just for 1 park zone, and you have to be careful that not alot of people use it, as if someone is already parked on 1 system, and someone else tries to park another, i am not sure what would happen.
This is off the top of my head, so let me know if it doesnt work.
