I have a several customers that dial 9 and hear dead air for four seconds before hearing the telco dial tone. I have checked the box for secondary dialtone under system settings and still no secondary dial tone. I have instructed these users to ignore the dead air and dial but does anyone know how to fix this issue? Some sites do not have this problem and some do. These systems are current 4.2.17. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

How are your lines fed into the IPO? Analog POTS or T1?

You say the dial tone comes after a few seconds? Does your shortcode go directly to the line group or does the "9" short code go to the ARS table?

PRI T-1. Directly out the line group.

Then you need to direct the "9" towards an ARS group, because that is where the secondary dial tone is.
