I have a customer that is having problems dialing out with the newer style Partner phones. When they dial a number it is correct on the display but they get someone different than who they dialed. I have had this problem happen with a couple different customers. It used to happen more right after the new style of phones came out. But it has slowed down recently. Any ideas?

one phone or several?
have you verified it ?
First thing I would do on something like this is ask the customer to keep a log and look for a pattern
you could also check the SMDR records and see what the system is recording on the "mis dials "

Dialing on Speakerphone? The Euro II's, used in a reverberant room, with your palm cupping the microphone, will transmit the echo of the DTMF, causing double digits. The display shows what you pressed, but a digit grabber on the CO side will show what is being sent.
Dial with the microphone turned off, or on the handsets.

I'm having this problem now with 2 customers. 1 in NY and 1 in NJ. Different carriers. Happens on all sets and all lines. Maybe 1 of every 15 calls. Both have R 7. AVAYA says this is not a known issue.

Not a known issue with me either except as noted- in a reverberant room.

There are two phones doing this and both rooms are highly reverberant. Should they cover the mouthpiece on the handset while dialing?

Should not happen if they are dialing with the handset lifted (and the speaker phone not turned on). As stated above, if using the speaker phone, toggle the Mic OFF while dialing.

It does happen when using the handset. I tried replacing the phone for now and see if this helps.

I would say replacing the phones should fix it. Back when the Euro II's first came out we had some that did the same thing you described, replaced the phones and haven't heard of any more problems out of them.
