A couple of these nifty little devices dropped into my lap with a trade-in system...
They are simply labeled "AT&T Attendant" COMCODE 406899054.
They have a 4-bank dip switch panel, a power jack and 3 RJ jacks labeled "Serial I/O", "reserved" and "to line".
Anybody got a manual for these? Searching Avaya's site didn't do much for me...
Thanks!

You've got a "Cobot" repackaged in AT&T clothing. You might be able to find "Merlin Attendant" on the Avaya site. If not, I've got them and can send them on.

Thanks for your quick reply!
It's been a ridiculously busy week so I'm just now getting back to check this...
Thank you for providing the right key words for me search on...amazingly I tried several different search criteria on their site--but not that one...
Short answer is I found what I was looking for...I'm not certain these will be useful for anything, but at least with the manuals available I'm willing to put them on the shelf for a while and see if they're ever needed...
Thanks, TTT!

NEEDED? Those things will never be needed. Well maybe if you needed a door stop and those were the only things close by.
I'd donate em to a museum.

I agree. I searched for "Merlin Attendant" just to see what you think is so great. The link to the manual is listed but click on the link to find that the file has been junked.
Nifty little devices?

It will answer a call, play an announcement, wait for DTMF, then flash and transfer. Either blind or announced. You could use them for Centrex, or anything with a single line port. Had a pair of them on a Panasonic KX-T1232 in a 24-hour grocery store, they wanted them to answer, but no voice mail.

Thanks for telling us what it does since it seems the manual no longer exist. Thing is it's probably more than 15 years old. That's OK I guess if you come across one in service but the last thing I would want to do is sell or even give one to a customer. There is current equipment or other ways out there that will accomplish the same thing that will make money for me without any headaches.

Well I downloaded manuals from Avaya's site...three of them related to the device...without any problems...
I don't think I would sell something like this on a new install...though I could see applications for it...
Actually, I'm thinking about hooking one of them up to the Legend system at home. I can put a standard "If you know the extension you wish to reach, dial it now, or dial 0 for the operator" and I bet that would eliminate any calls getting through that are nothing more than a pre-recorded message...
