can you guys help? i installed a partner acs approx one yr ago, it has developed a squeal on the loud speaker page port. this is in turn being sent to all over head speakers. i have a slt plugged directly into the system with a speaker directly into page port (set to line 09). working with my dealer and and he is contacting avaya. any suggestions will help...here r the tests ive ran...
1. Tried changing phone.
a. this did not help..changed phone, ext, and jack.
2. Plugged slt directly into system.
a. this did not resolve.
3. Changed 509 (no luck)
4. changed five slot ( no luck)
5. changed page ports(nope)
6. down to...slt in port 26, speaker in line 09. the slt phone squeals through the speaker when the hook switch is depressed.

Please any suggestions will help, oh the squeal is not present when paging through a digital keyset

Does the single line telephone have a hands-free speaker? If so, might the squeal be feedback between the speaker and the handset?

no, thought of that also. squeal occurs even if hand set is held away and hook switch is depressed with finger

i can monitor the slt with butt set even if you tap the hook switch the squeal happens every time its depressed.

i now have tier four at avaya looking into this. My distributor has called and they are supposed to call me back directly. They have never heard of this happening. Come on guys please...look now i'm begging, i have no where else to turn.HELP

this even happens if i unplug the hand set and hit hook switch or unplug phone from line cord for that matter

Spoke to Jerri (avaya tier 3) she said this is a known problem. She is sending me a 9DA attenuator that foes on the page line. Will post results as they happen.
