The VPN phone connects great and I can make and receive calls fine now. The issue is there seems to be some kind of registration timer or setting where the phone either loses or renegotiates the tunnel at around 20 min. I can not get a call to last longer than about 17 min or a combination of calls. The call drops audio and disconnects the caller. I can then hang up the VPN phone, the display states VPN tunnel lost and proceeds to reestablish the tunnel and you can recover, but the call is gone. I'm wondering if there is a setting in the VPNsettings.txt file to fix this but have not been able to find an answer. We are using Check point Safe@Office firewalls and IPO 5.0(15). I don't think it's in the firewall. I can use a Checkpoint VPN client and a Softphone and have not encountered the same issue, the call goes well beyond 20 min.
Any help or direction is appreciated.

Could it be that you are conecting via a residential internet cicuit such as Comcast? I find that my connection at home will time out at about 20 minutes if there is no activity and I must "log off and log on" to get an active conection.

There should be some sort of logs in the checkpoint, see what happens when the phone disconnects.
I had that problem with Charter at my old house. I was at the end of the line and my internet was slow. It would cause constant rebooting of the phone.

I'm testing from our office, a business class integrated T1, also the same circuit that I tested with the soft phone.
The check point does not show anything in the logs except the re-establishment of the tunnel.
Again, my thought was that there may be something in the VPNsettings.txt to compensate for this issue, I just don't know what it could be. When i use the Checkpoint client with a soft phone I don't experience this issue.

I've heard there is a lifetime timer for the phone. I just haven't found where it's set.

DOes the phone reboot after 17 minutes ONLY when on a call? Does it stay up longer if idle?
There are registration timers that I think are defaulted to an hour.
I would run a sysmon trace and look at the time the phone loses connection.
