On one extension, the message waiting light will not go out out even though we have cleared all the messages. Is there a code to force extinguish the light ?

No, is this voicemail pro? If so, navigate to the accounts folder in VMPro (default is: C>all Programs>Avaya>IP office> Voicemail pro>VM> accounts)
Find the folder of the user you need to fix, make sure that there arent any .wav files there.
THen go to services, and restart the voicemail pro DB service and the voicemail pro service. That should fix it.

Also check the sourse for that extension. You might have a group voicemail notification enabled.
