I have a customer that inherited an IP Office 406 V2, they are asking us to install it for them but they do not have the Interconnect cable for the expansion unit. Does anybody know where I can get one? I have called around to a few places but I'm not having much luck, as these cables normally come with the expansion unit. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Aren't they just patch cords limited to 1 meter (3'3")?

In an IP Office class that I took in January, they told us that it is not a standard cable. We did try with one anyway and the standard cable did not work.

The pin outs are described on page 61 of the install manual, it's a shielded cable that you should be able to make.

If you buy refurb crap from Metroline direct, you get a standard cat5 cable. It works, but who know how well. As Russ stated, it is a shielded cable.

We've used good quality and short cat5 cables with no problems. There is an Avaya part number for the 'proper' ones though.

The SAP code is 700213457
Google the code, and you'll find lots of suppliers of the factory cable.
Expansion Interconnect Cable
Connects the control unit to expansion modules (except WAN3 modules). RJ45 to RJ45. Blue.
(Don't start, Ed. It's a cut and paste from the installation manual!!)

Thanks everyone for your responses, we did find the cable. It was a shielded cable as mentioned earlier, it also appears that a standard cable does work. We tried again with another standard cable after receiving the Avaya blue cable came in and voila, it worked!
