Customer has an Avaya R8 and a PC card R3 voice mail. My customer told me that they had 2 calls the other day one at 1:15pm and the other at 1:30pm. The calls went to voice mail. Around 2pm they checked for messages at extension 10 and there was no MWI lite on. Later, around 3pm, the lite was on and those two messages were there. Any ideas about why there is a delay? Could it be that the messages are there but the MWI is not going on immediately? What could cause a delay problem? Thanks in advance.

Was there additional voice mail traffic? I beleive on the PC card, the second port is the MWI port. If it is busy, and misses lighting the MW lamp, it waits until it cycles back through the update test.

Is the Voice mail a Definity Audix. If so the its not a delay in the message but a delay in the MWL coming on. the only way to prove this is to look at the ACT file for this Ext.

Hello Tel The Sky,
The messages are controlled by the system time and sometimes can make a difference if there's a "midnight routine". So, reboot the system, reset your time and make real sure that it's the correct military time and that should synch up the system and VM. That has always worked for me.
