We have just had all our greetings and announcements professionally created. However, they delivered the files in MP3 format. I know the system will only handle WAV files. When I convert the files using Audacity to WAV (8KHz, Mono, 16-bit) the files are still over 3 Mb in size. If I look at an old recording we made ourselves in house, the same file is 600 Kb. I am concerned the WAV files I have made by converting MP3s #1) are not compressed and #2) may present problems because of their size. Do I need to compress the WAV files? If so, how do you recommend I compress them?

I would try one first and see if it works. If it does, let it be.

Use windows explorer to get the properties on the two different files and see if they show up differently (encoding etc). If the specs are correct the size of the file shouldn't matter.
