Hi, our hotel occupies 1200sq.meters space, with 8 blocks of 3-floor buildings & a swimming pool area. 6 of the blocks have 10 rooms per floor. I have designed a WiFi solution anchored on 2 Linksys Broadband routers 2.4Ghz & 6 Linksys WAPs all 802.11b - 1 WAP per building (will it serve well?) I intend to use the in-built Linksys WPA for security stuff. Please confirm the workability of my design to efficiently cover the entire complex, or else what design will be most appropriate? Thanks a million

Hi Kechel:
Welcome to the board. You will need an 802.11 survey done to tell you where your weak spots are going to be for sure, but I doubt that the 2 Linksys boxes are going to serve you very well. Even if you add the high gain antennas and the WSB24 signal booster boxes you will most likely have serious dead spots. On the other hand, most hotels do, so I suppose it just depends on how well you want the job done.
You mentioned security. If your own people will be accessing the WiFi to get to your LAN for business purposes, you might look into the Sonicwall solutions. You can have guest users as well as company users and the firewall will protect your LAN.
Good luck.
