Ok will try to keep it short.
Info: large system 3 cabinets connected to another system in another building
Slot 13 4x8 card co ports 8157, 8158, 8159 and 8160
ext 167 same card 5th port
2 new lines with roll over
i have installed these 2 new lines to 8158 and 8159 and these 2 lines appear on ext 167 (and no where else, i have checked)all good
Line at 8158 rings on ext 167 and when not answered goes to voice mailbox, good!
Line at 8159 rings to ext 167 and when not answered goes to "your call is being transferred to operator" and it does, NOT GOOD!
Get frustrated and move line from 8159 to 8160, reassign line appearance and now both lines now go to voice mailbox!

why is port 8159 not going to voice mail box?????

hope i explained this right!

Thank you! :bang:

Magix? If so, see who the "Principal User" is for said lines.

Dial each VM port separetly to make sure you have the same Greeting. If a port not Rotary Enabled you would have "Transfer to the Operator" message.

A line not in a pool, and without a Principal User, will cover to the voice mail of the lowest Logical ID that has the line assigned to it AND has VM coverage.

Whatever extension (and it can be an adjunct or even a station port without a phone plugged in) has voicemail coverage, but not an actual mailbox. So when the call arrives at the VM, it can't match up a mailbox, so you get "Your call is being transferred to the Operator"

So in your case, go ahead and assign the Principal User to your extension, or find the rouge extension with the line assigned to it, and remove it.
