At what stage does it fail? If you establish the first call, can you press the Recall button & then 2, to get internal dial tone again?

Does the DN for the polycom have 2 intercoms programmed?

Make or answer 1st call.
Press LINK + 2 -puts call on hold.
Make or answer 2nd call.
Press LINK + 3 - this completes the conf call.

Ha, I'm caught out again! In Australia we call it the Recall button, you obviously don't. I've never heard it referred to as a LINK button.

Looking at the manual. I think you need to press Conference, then 2, to get the internal dial tone back.

In other words the same as NTlayoff's post, except for substituting CONFERENCE for LINK.

Also the Flash Timing should probably be 100ms, but depends on your CO's.

Kevin - Are you looking at an OPTION manual?

No, the Polycom Manual

https://support.polycom.com/global/...oundstation2_with_display_user_guide.pdf

Plus this from what we call an SLT manual for the ATA for an CICS or MICS.

Note your labelling is apparently link, instead of Recall.

Conference

The Conference feature lets you establish a conference call between yourself
and two other parties.
1. Make or answer the first call.
2. Press Recall 2 to put the call on hold.
3. Make the second call.
4. Press Recall *3 to establish the conference.
If the second person you call is busy, or if there is no answer:
1. Hang up the handset.
2. Lift the handset again.
3. Press Recall 2 to return to the first call.
To place the conference on hold:
1. Press Recall 2.
The other two parties in the conference remain connected.
To rejoin a held conference:
1. Press Recall 2.
To split a conference into two separate calls:
1. Press Recall #3.
To alternate between the two separate calls:
1. Press Recall 2.
To reconnect the conference:
1. Press Recall *3.
To disconnect one party:
1. Press Recall #3 to put the one of the parties on hold.
2. If you are not connected to the party that you want to disconnect, press
Recall 2.
3. Hang up the handset.
4. Lift the handset again.
5. Press Recall 2.

You are reconnected to the call on hold.

FWIW, I've never worked on an Option.

The Conference feature lets you establish a conference call between yourself
and two other parties.
1. Make or answer the first call.
2. Press (Recall, Link or Flash...all the same thing) 2 to put the call on hold.
3. Make the second call.
4. Press Recall *3 to establish the conference.

NOTE: You'll get dial tone THE SAME WAY as you made the 1st call. In other words, you have to have the unit set up on an ata with Line Pool (A) or whatever as the prime line. When you go off-hook, you'll get a line, same thing 2nd time. NOTE: your lines must be in a pool.
If the prime is set as intercom, then you'll have to do F64x to get a line. Again, same for 2nd call.

Picture of three people to the left is the Conference button (Link/Flash /Recall).

Like NT said but * before the three

Make or answer 1st call.
Press Conference + 2 -puts call on hold and gives you second dial tone.
Make the 2nd call.
Press Conference + * + 3 - this completes the conf call.

kevinlms I wonder does Australia have a different set of manuals and user guides then the rest of the world?
or maybe specially made ones from the main carrier?

I didn't mean to double what was said but the last 4 posts did not exist for me until after I posted.

I see Utelus posted "then pressing conference btn" so that has to be the issue indeed.

Hi Curlycord.

The first one, If installing a system from scratch, we use Profile B, this is because, Australia uses different ring tones etc, than the US/Canada. I have come across systems here, where profile B has NOT been selected & the system does weird things.

The main carrier Telstra, did introduce these systems to Australia.

You can download the Installation Manual from here, if your interested in looking at the difference. The NT40 is the CICS to you.
