I am looking for Tech Support on how to add 2 Co Lines on VB-43223 Telephones. Telephones have 5 Co Lines now. I want to use FF6 and FF7 Keys.

Clarification, please.

  • Is your system a DBS variety...308/616/ or 40/72/96...perhaps a 576?
  • Do you have the manual
  • Are CO lines for 6 and 7
  • Do you have VM on the system
  • POTS lines or T-1
  • Et cetera...et cetera...et cetera...

The website in your Profile states that you work at an Authorized Panasonic Dealer?

Well, guessing that you have an 8-port trunk card (43511) in the system, what are you asking? You have the manual, you have the pinouts, you can get into programming. Start reading.

My DBS hardware went away last spring.

1. I am trying to use FF Key 6 for CO 6 and FF Key 7 for Co 7.

2. FF Key 6 Displays Intercom 107, FF Key Displays Intercom 108,

3. I did a Clear Feature assignment for FF Key Extension Port 6.......(FF5-6# - 6# CONF..... ON/OFF)
ext port Key#

4. I did a Clear Feature assignment for FF Key Extension Port 7.......(FF5-(7#) - (7#) (CONF... ON/OFF)
ext port Key#

5. I did Co Day Ring Assignments for Ext Port 6....................(FF4-1# (6#) (6#) (1)#
ext port trunk # 1- Trunk Rings

Results Key 6 & 7 are still Intercoms 107 & 108

What do I need to do to get CO DIAL TONE ON FF KEYS 6&7 ?????????

If you did what you said, you were doing alright except what port are you programming? 4. FF5 1#6#6# should default button 6 of the first extension.

1. I want to put the system back to default values.

2. Do you know if the default values will automatically configure to have Co lines 1 thru 7 appear on FF1 FF2 FF3 FF4 FF5 FF6 FF7 on the 22-Button Key Telephones?

3. That is all I need done to 7, 22- Button Telephones .

Okay. Here's why I didn't want to get involved. I don't want to take ownership of your system.

You DON'T want to "default" the system. If you can't understand a minor change in section 400, you'll have a hell of a time digesting the whole manual while the customer is breathing down your neck after it goes stupid.

I dumped all my DBS stuff for a reason. Subtly, I'm wondering why you are making a big deal out of a phone system with 7 lines and 7 phones? Does it even have CID to the sets? It's a 30 year old box.

Perhaps someone else will take pity on you for a fee.

very hard to get help on this site, Just want you to answer a minor question, WHAT IS THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION?......Have a nice day.
Posted By: Professor Shadow Re: Panasonic VB-43050 - 07/24/19 03:10 PM
Since you have the manual, look up Table 2-4 Default Table Value (Pages 7 through 12). Manual

Before you choose to default your system be sure to document all programming so that way you don't forget to change some of the default values.

If you looks at your scenario from our point of view you might see how someone would hesitate to get involved too deeply.

  • You list the type of phone VB-43050 that you need assistance with.
  • You didn't list the type of system you have.
  • Your question is System oriented not keyset oriented.
  • You have the manual but can't find the section in programming when pointed out to you.
  • Given that you cannot figure out how to program the system, you want to default the system.
  • You are an Authorized Panasonic dealer.

We would expect an installer to extrapolate from one system to another... for example (yours, perhaps) CO Lines on all systems have these things in common:

  • Type of CO Line
  • Ringing
  • CO Line Appearance
  • CO COS
  • CO Timing Parameters
  • Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera

If you aren't having any problem getting into the system, you have the manual and you are an Authorized Dealer... ponder

Good luck

no where in the manual does it tell you the default configuration.... if it did i would not be on here reading your insulting reply's, I'm a Telephone man just like you and thought I could get some help. Keep all that quick answer knowledge to yourself. Have a nice day

Magic phrase. You're trying to get advice on a system that's 30 years old. Your learning curve is not my learning curve, nor am I going to read any significant portions of the manual.

Good luck with your quest. This thread is now closed........
