When using the Mailbox "Screened Call" transfer type (whether in the Call Transfer setup or Find Me Follow Me transfer setup), voicemail waits for a response from the party being transferred to, and then begins playing the options: "I have a call for you. Press 1 to take the call. Press 2 if you would like me to take a message....."

The problem I am running into is when I am using this type of transfer when going to a cell phone. The user wants to be able to screen the call, as offered by this option. The problem is that sometimes the options begin playing prior to the call REALLY being answered. An example of how this might happen would be when transferring to a Nextel, and the Nextel system answers intermediately with "Please hold while the Nextel subscriber you are trying to reach is located". As far as voicemail is concerned, this would be an answer, and so it begins playing the screened transfer options. I am trying to find a way to have the options repeat X number of times (at least repeat once). I tried extending the number of rings, but that only applies prior to an answer. I tried using the Call Holding options in COS (VM), but that didn't change anything. I went looking for an option in the VM.CFG, but wasn't able to find anything. Does anyone know a way to make these options repeat? Thanks!

I think what you want is in the vm.cfg.

Configuration File Entry: NOTIFY REPS
Description: When the VP system calls to deliver the messages, it plays a prompt: "Message for [name]. Press 1 if you would like to hear the messages ...[pause]." The VP system repeats this prompt until you press 1, or until it has played the prompt a specific number of times. This option allows you to specify how many times the prompt should be repeated.

Default: 6 times.

Let me know if this does or does not work.

I saw that just before I had to leave, but didn't have time to try it. From reading the description, though, I had thought that it only applied to notification, since default is already 6. I will be trying it out, just in case. I have found in a couple cases where the book specifies a default (without the entry in vm.cfg), but the default had since been changed in the hard code. Because of that uncertainty, I'll check it out. Thanks BD3c.
