We have a Vodavi STS that we just had to rebuild after it died. When I try to setup the night ring by going to flash 22 the message displays looks different than the old one, it looks like.
AUTO DAY NIGHT SPL MON YES #### #### #### 0-1
Is there a setting I am missing somewhere or is this a version change?
Thanks.

I think you need to look at Flash 40.

It is a version change. They now allow for automatic switching of the special mode in addition to the original day/night operation.
You now have to look at each day separately, enter the four digit start time for each mode. If you don't need automatic special mode, just leave that entry empty with four pound signs.
Flash 22 is only necessary if you will be having automatic day/night modes. If it will be manual, then all programming for this is done is flash 40 as others have indicated.

Thank you for the information. I was able to update the automatic times; apparently our system that died was an older version than what we replaced it with. The new version adds in the option for special that I was not including when I was programming the time, when I added #### for special it works. Thanks for the help.

I realize this is a very old thread, but if anyone knows what the 00-1 at the end means, I would appreciate knowing:
AUTO DAY NIGHT SPL MON YES #### #### #### 00-1
In flash 22 programming, you can change the number using buttons 22 (to increment) and 23 (to decrement) the number. For instance, when the displays shows 00-1, if you press button 22 you get 01-1, press button 22 again you get 02-1, if you press button 22 again you get 03-01, if you press button 23 you go back down and get 02-1, etc. It only increments up to 9 (at least on the system I was programming today). If you press button 9, it switches to 00-2 and you can increment up or down as well, but again, only from 00-2 to 09-2. I must be missing something obvious, but I'm not sure what this does, anyone else? All of my manuals are older than the introduction of this feature. If it would be better to post this as a new topic, I can do that, but I thought for the search feature, it would be nice to have this information along with the other replies.

The 00-1 is the tenant group 1. You can have different auto ring settings for each group. This thread is old but this info belongs here (in my mod opinion)

Thanks for the information about the tenant groups, I hadn't thought about that at all. I played with this table a bit and understand better now what the newer software does. I couldn't find a copy of the newer manual, so I just experimented until I figured out the programming for this feature. For anyone else who needs this information and doesn't have the newer manual, you have to do as Ed said above: each day is entered separately and you enter the start time for day and night (and special), rather than the old way of entering when night ended and started, and you have to enter the start time for day, night and special for each day. So, an entry for Monday (button 2) with Day starting at 8 am and night starting at 5 pm and special being ignored would look like this:
AUTO DAY NIGHT SPL MON YES 0800 1700 #### 00-1
Note the 00-1 at the end, that would be as Derrick said above for tenant group 00. The -1 is the first level programming for tenant group 00 and that is probably all you need for most applications. However, if you need a more complicated setup, you can press button 9 and go to additional programming for tenant group 00. So, you could program the auto night mode to switch off and on and off and on during the day. For instance, if the company wanted to have the phones go to voicemail over lunch, you could program the following:
button 9 is not lit: AUTO DAY NIGHT SPL MON YES 0800 1200 #### 00-1
press button 9 so it is lit: AUTO DAY NIGHT SPL MON YES 1300 1700 #### 00-2
In this case, on Monday, auto night mode would have the system be in night mode until 8 am (assuming the previous evening it was in night mode) and then be in day mode from 8 am to noon, then in night mode from noon to 1 pm, then in day mode from 1 to 5 pm, then in night mode from 5 pm on.
Hope this helps anyone who needs to use the flash 22 feature with the newer software.
