I have a vodavi STS phone system with the In-Skin voicemail. I have programmed the phones with a night button, programmed the CO line ringing assignment for night to VM hunt group, and set the Voicemail to DayMode. However when I put the system in Nights the calls immediately ring to VM but the day message still plays. I changed the VM to Automatic mode but the night message only plays when it is scheduled but not when the night button is pressed. I need to get the night message to play when the night button is pressed because the company has changing hours every week. I would appriciate any suggestions.

thanks

I think we are dealing with a misconception here about night service with regard to the phone system and the voice mail. Pressing the night button only alters the ringing assignments with regard to where the calls go. The night button doesn't change the mode of the voice mail unless it's an external digital unit, like the Dispatch or Talkpath.

What is happening here is that your voice mail card (I assume that you are using the "in-skin") can follow a day, night, special or automatic mode, but it cannot be externally controlled by the phone system.

Sorry for the delayed response. I hope that this information is still of use to you.

How come there's always enough time to go back and fix it a second time?

how many lines do you have? if you have 4 or less lines then you can set four ports of voice mail to play the day greeting and the other four to play the night greeting, let me know how many lines you have and i can tell you how to set it up
