Hi gang, we are supporting an old PACS R3.0 for a small Physical Therapy clinic and they have been getting an error message when the automatic backup runs...something about an "invalid Card" I think my tech said... I'm guessing the PCMCIA card has gone bad...we turned off the auto back-ups but the client insists that we fix the problem (I explained that we could reprogram the whole system in about 15 minutes but he doesn't want to hear that). Anyway, we are not really an Avaya shop and we have just inherited a few along the way...is it possible to find a replacement PCMCIA card that would work with the old R3.0? I don't really want to have to upgrade it and potentially open a whole other can of worms for the client...their needs are very basic...

Are you sure the system even had a B/U card in it? And as far as what will work: Any of the ACS back-up cards will work (Green with out remote access or the Silver with remote access)

thanks guys...yes there is an existing card but my tech didn't bring it back so I was really kind of inquiring to find out if I had to worry about a particular PCMCIA card "version" or not. We ran into a problem a couple of years ago with trying to correct an issue for another client where the PCMCIA card would not work but I'm thinking that was a pc card vm I think....

Be careful of the silver remote access/ backup restore cards, they are usually sold as an upgrade card that will serve as a remote access/ backup restore after the upgrade.

I carry a green lucent, silver lucent, and silver avaya labeled pc card with me all the time. one of them will work with anything . I'd say green would be the one for 3.0 not 100% on that though.
