The bottom line is that IPO and Exchange have to "match". The IT guy should be able to set up Exchange such that it does not require authentication if email is coming from IP address of IP Office. This is sometimes easier... Mike

I may be wrong, but I beleive the email account on the exchange server cannot be SSL. You need to have the IT guy set up a "relay" account. The IPO does not recieve any email.

Ok with that being said, I am assuming that my settings are correct. The IT guy said that his exchange server is set for relay, but I'm having a hard time getting him to respond to emails to have him double check his settings. Also is there anything else in the way of questions that I can ask him what to look for?

Have him check the SMPT logs on his end. Send some test emails and note the exact time. Then have him see what is going on in the logs at that time. You cannot diagnose this without at least seeing what is going on at the other end. For example his side may expect an EHLO or a HELO before DATA or some other issue. The exact error message and number should be in the log. If he has relaying set for internal, you should need no password or PAP/CHAP.
