Does anyone know when Release 8.1 will come out??? I Have a client that LOVES the touch screen features and Gigabit port, and it will be supported by the next release... Rel 8.1

You will not need to wait for 8.1.
End of March there will be maintenance releases on R8 and R7. Both will include support for the 96x1 phones.
But to answer your question, June 29 is the release date for 8.1.

Black only.
Some of the 96xx series can get colored faceplates, but that does not include the 96x1 series.
