Ok I am new to being an admin and was just thrown in but here is my first of many issues. An employee came to me saying they clear all messages but then others appear after they have pulled old ones and the new ones were left before they cleared the voice mail box. We use a Merlin system and not sure what else you need to know to help me with this issue. It does not happen all the time but it has happened before from what I am told.

To be honest, If you are not familiar with the Merlin system you need to bring in your local Avaya BP. They can get all your issues resolved quickly and efficiently.

Mike is right, sounds like you need help. Maybe even some on site training. I assume you have a Merlin Magix, that's the first thing we need to know.

If your using an Intuity Audix connected to your Merlin Legend. This Delay time is something that can happen, For Example: There are to types of messages, If I call you and your mail box answer's and there is enough free mail box space, I can leave a message and you should have no delay in getting it. However if I log into my mail box and create a message and send it to you, the Intuity Audix tries to deliver the message right then. If your mail box is full and the message can't be delivered, the Intuity will wait 15 minutes and try again. Each time the Intuity tries to deliver the message and can't because of a full mail box, The time it waits gets longer and longer. Some times the user with a full mail box can remove all the messages and before the Intuity can delivery the Message that's being held, The mail box fills up again. Once the wait time for delivery has been set the Intuity won't try to delivery the message until that time. Messages can hang around for as much as 30 days before being delivered.
