Have a Hotel with a SX200 LW 17 and the customer calls about every 2 months or so with the complaint that the console is down.
Upon arrival each time, the console LCD displays "waiting on Communication" Unplugging the console and waiting at least sixty seconds or more results in still no communication.
Upon checking alarms and reports nothing listed.
Try dignostics and shows "port busy" Port LED on card is not lit. Try to disable no go.
Finally unseat digital line card, wait 30 seconds , reseat comes back up normal..
any ideas????
I thought about static discharge into console, and had customer spray static guard all around area but if it was static would it not just lock up the console and not the digital card?

Have you tried to roll the digital card or move the console to another port? Have you reset system recently?

mpoe is right try rolling the cards or putting it on another port and if the problem is still there check the cabling and the phone.

I forgot to mention I did roll the cards with another digital card.
I guess the next step is to move the Console to another card and port.
Thanks

make sure there are no programmed digital ports without a phone connected to it.
this sometimes causes trouble.

Move it to a different digital card and change the pair to the console to check possible cable problem. Do you have a spare console?

I have had similar problems when the printer port on the console was being used for smdr.I changed to a data set and that corrected the problem.

there are two things to think about.
1. is the digital card full? you might try to change it to a card with less used ports.
2. is the revision level of the console high enough,? i have heard that the console must be above a certain part number to work properly, the last 3 digits are the important ones.
