Is there any way of backing up the generic 217 SX200 or SX100 systems?

I recently installed a refurbed SMDR (buffering) board from genesis and when I connect my laptop to see if it buffers I get speratic printouts, I make a call and it sometimes does not go through.
Could it be the CPU card, do I need to reset the switch?
It's been a long time since it has been done.

any thoughts on this?

thanks

I would do a data dump 55590 from the console.
The isn't a way to backup & restore.

Actually on SX 100/200 Analog systems you can save & reload a database to your laptop using the data dump / data load function. I recommend changing your scanner card to 1200 baud if its not already and it only takes about 10 minutes where at 300 baud it takes 30 mins. Note you have to reload the data at the same baud rate you dumped it at. I keep all of my systems on floppy disk in case of IPC failure it's simple to reload the data only thing is any changes made since the data dump obviously arent on the disk but its still a great time saver.

I posted this information elsewhere but I think I may as well put it here too. On the "Interconnect Card" which is where the DB25 connector is located that you plug into to get SMDR output and or connect a laptop there are 2 small chips located next to the DB25 one of these is a 1488 Quad Line driver Chip and the other is a 1489 Quad Line receiver Chip. The 1488 chip is what puts out the SMDR call records and all data that prints out. These chips are not reliable and are notorious for going bad especially in lightning and or power surge areas. Radio Shack used to carry this chip for less than 2 bucks. But I think they have stopped but any decent electronic componet supply store will have them. OK heres a tip its way easier to remove the 4 bolts that hold the side cover/panel onto the cabinet and remove this side panel thus esposing the back of the interconnect card, get a soldering iron and a solder sucker make sure you are working on the 1488 driver chip and unsolder it. Ive done this procedure with systems up and running and have had no problem. For about $1.50 you can get a socket that the 1488 chip plugs into so if it goes bad in the future you just plug in a new one. Solder in the socket & plug in the new chip (make sure the notch in the chip is going the same way as the old one this makes sure you have the chip going in right). Replace the side panel and budda boom budda bing your SMDR and print outs should be fine. And you saved your customer hundreds of $$$

I realize this is an old posting, however, I have been trying to find a Mitel programmer/installer in the Washington D.C/Northern Virginia area that is capable of making these repairs, and making some program changes without success for some time. I post this in hopes of finding a person!

Message to fldiver
I have discussed downloading the program as you discussed in your post with a Mitel company here in the Northern Virginia area and they are telling me that I need a RMATS card to download and upload the program. It sounds like there are 2 different ways? Can you contact me directly so I can discuss a few things about this via email directly with you.

I am just trying to get a copy of my program off the system for backup. I have lost the program a couple of times over the years and always had to pay a Mitel programmer to come in and reprogram the system from scratch.

They say they can print out but that is it.

Thanks
