we have a SX2000 and a new T1 line to connect universal T1 card is installed and configured. Type: universal t1 > Signal protocol: msdn-dpnss > BRI Mode: none > Far end connect: Main PBX Link Desc: dpnss, dsx-1, nil
T1 settings from provider: T1 B8ZS line coding, with ESF Framing PRI encoding is NI2/National
what are the setting required in the SX2000? thanks in advance.

A bit more detail. in the SX2000 Digital Link configuration a DS1 Formatter card provides support for D8ZS/ESF. Do i need a DS1 card along with the Universal T1 card? Can a CSU/DSU be installed between the Mitel and the T1? I am getting ring tone when dialing out the T1, then a recording, "message 3DT1" or "message 4DT1" thanks.

What model number universal T1 are you using ? What version of IMAT have you down loaded to your PC ? What version lightware are you running on the sx2000 ? If you can answer these questions maybe someone can help .

thank you for you reply, sorry for not providing that detail. the t1 card is MC270AA no IMAT lightware MS2013-F-NA-00 SX.U03.9.9 I have made some progress. calls are going out and coming in. however, we have been using circuits requiring a 9, the new T1 does not. i would like to continue to require the 9 and have it absorbed, but the Digit Mod/Absorb config isn't working. any suggestions? thanks.

Is this a PRI circuit or a T1 supertrunk ? If it is a PRI you must have IMAT software to configure the PRI card . If it's just a supertrunk you can use a mc270ca . The mc270aa has an onboard csu which is not loopable from the niu . As far as the dial 9 goes put your new trunks in the same digit modification table as your existing ones . The digit mod assignment is under the route table assigment .

there is a mc270ca in the dsu node as well, you are right on. i use a basic cde terminal to do my config. we are currently on centrx, which require the 9, at least that's how the programming appears in the Digit Modification form. I want to continue to have staff dial the 9 but have it absorbed before going out. additionally, when making a call there's no dial tone when selection a line. i am manually selecting the T1 outbound line i want to test. thanks.

On a T1 supertrunk you will not receive CO dialtone on the channels you direct select .That is why you must call route OUTGOING CALLS via ARS . So are you saying they dial 9 and then 9 again for centrex dialtone ?
