If it's a SS1000, It would run from a narrow dark card in the lower cab., called a DNIC card. The card position is relevant to the physical connection, so if you roll cards for tests, put them back.

The Console could run from two different types of cards. It may be the older style that runs from a module on the universal card or a Superconsole that runs from the DNIC 9109-012-000
The SC1000 is a single pair, I believe has to be in a high-power slot to run a console. The waiting for comm message should only appear for about 30 seconds at the most and then it should come up. If it is still at waiting for comm, it may be connected to the wrong port,(card type)or something else with the wiring-card-port type configuration. I haven't seen any (that I can recall) consoles that went to waiting for communication where the console was bad. It really sounds like the wrong port, programming, or wiring that is causing this. Is this thing still broke?

If you are getting an alarm on the cards, that will be the problem. Give me a call and I will help you out with what is causing the alarm on your cards.
