I am fairly new to PABX's; the customer is using POTS LS trunks; the provider says that the Caller ID is activated but the caller id is not being displayed on the phones. I checked the COS, trunk service and don't see anything missing and the SMDR shows the caller ID is hitting the autoattendant. Is this a definite sign that the provider's caller id is getting to the pbx and that there is something wrong with the programming?
Second issue is that there is a 3.5 second delay in the auto attendant greeting start from when the call shows as connected on my phone. There is no delay on the recording. Any ideas on this would help.

Check your SMDR records to see if the CID info is being recorded. Typically, if the info is not is not in SMDR, it won't be shown on the phones. Also, we are talking about the embedded LS trunks, and not the trunks in a peripheral node?? Also, monitor the trunk with your butt set, and confirm you hear the CID burst between the first and second ring cycle!

Thanks for the responses. I have checked 2 of the trunks the trunks at the demarc with a caller id phone and the CID is present on the inbound trunks and the SMDR shows the CID being recorded at the auto attendant ext. number. The transfer extention is showing the CID of the trunk serviced name only, not the real CID, as if the "display ANI/DNIS on transferred calls" is not working.
The CID used to work; this problem started after a programmed reboot to try and cure an issue of a 3.5 second delay in the auto attendant greeting starting after the call is connected.

I ran into this a couple weeks ago. Make surethat CLASS trunk is set in the trunk circuit descriptor and then disable ANI/DNIS delivery trunk in the COS of the trunk. That should take care of your problem. It is kinda backwards from the 200 if that is what you are used too.
