I've set the tone demonstration feature access code to *#*33 but when it's dialed from any phone, SS420, SS430, SS410, it just yields a dial tone and can't be used to adjust the ring tone.

Any hints?

I dont have a manual to take a look right now but I think to addition you have to dial 1 or 2 or 3 for different things(dial tone, ringer, etc.)

tone demonstration is not compatible with the ICP and a SS410, I would call the set and try ajusting it that way.

on the SS420 and SS430 did you try the Superkey and then scroll thru to ringer pitch, ringer pitch? Victoria a beautifull city.

my mistake, the docs say SS410 does work but may have to use Superkey.

Tried pressing 1,2,3 after to no avail.

I'm thinking not compatible with the 410. With the 420 and 430, no problem with Superkey, it's just that our staff of ~550 are used to the access code method used prior to our upgrade from SX 200 Light.

The technicians handbook in fact doesn't even recognize existence of the 410 in the features compatibility chart.

I was hoping the feature access code would work but even the folio manual recommends using the superkey and menu.

The question then becomes, what does the tone demonstration feature access code do at all as it doesn't work from 420 or 430.

I believe it is more for the supported sets. The 400 series are not fully supported with all the features.

You could always upgrade the set. Got a 4015 sitting around?

The tone demonstration is just as it sounds! It's for training purposes, so you can selectively produce system tones (ringback, reorder, busy, dial tones) through a speakerphone, and everyone can hear them in a controlled environment.

For the purpose of those looking for the answer, I'd programmed the feature access code as *#*33 whereas the instructions say to dial the feature access code, then dial 33.

Changed the feature access code to *#* so that when the user dials *#*33, they can then access the tone modification.

Thanks to all.
