I have a 3300ICP with 5 fax machines and all are connected via a Mediatrix 1102 (remote) 1204 (switch). Here is the problem:
When we fax between machines connected via the ATA's
everything is fine; but when we fax to an outside number or to a fax number connected through another PBX we get an error message of "line fault or "poor line condition" and the fax fails after the first page. The first page is received just about always; I have tried different fax machines, and many different setting combinations, but the issue is always the same. The Mediatrix are SIP and the Mitel is R7.0

If anyone has a solution it is appreciated.

I was standing back on this one, but, being the fool I am......... Panasonic 100 at work, found that if enough 'kludging' was done the faxes started going thru both ways on a PRI. (Kludging is an old expression I was introduced to in the AF. Means messing with the settings. Had a B & D TTY analyzer that we had to do an internal alignment on monthly, then it wouldn't work until we had a using agency with capability, send us a known 'trashy' signal, and we would 'kludge' the analyzer to agree, then send a 'trasy' signal at different error levels back and forth 2-3 times to confirm. All pots always ended up back where they started, of course.) Anyhow, don't know where to tell you to go on this one, but I know we had a LOT less problem, once we got rid of the slips on the PRI, that never affected voice! John C.

Thanks for the responses.
I have Kludged this system as much as I care too; I get it to work for a while and then it goes stupid again. The customer is starting to think that I am doing it on purpose to get service calls. ;>)
I have told the customer to install POTS lines for the faxes.
