Hey guys any help you can give on setting up the switch for a PMS interface. Currently SMDR is running out the Printer Port to our Call Accounting. We moved this over to the new PMS without issue. The new system supports passing room status and guest name over to the switch but it's been years since i've looked at setting it up.

Any help would be appreciated
Currently we have the SMDR going to the Printer port and a modem on the Maint port.

Thanks!

Your going to have to get a 2103 dataset and install it on a free digital port. If you don't know the system well, this can be a bit more than a enduser can set up. Your gonna need a professional for this one. You also need to know serial communications and pinouts.

You'll also need to make sure the Mitel has the PMS feature enabled.
The end result will be a serial connection between the Mitel (using a dataset w/Digital port,as mentioned), to a serial port in your PMS system.

I always used Dataset 1103 and used a premade DB25 cable with all pins. In form 11 set up your data circuit descriptor and make sure to force everything high (CTS,RTS, etc). This form is also where you will set up your Baud rate, Data bits, Stop bits, adn Parity (get this info from PMS vendor). Assign the extension to a free digital port in form 12. As 55footer said make sure form 4 has PMS enabled and I would suggest disabling PMS logs (if this feature is available on LW18). go to form 34 and add the extension number you created in form 12 for PMS.

Make sure that the digital port pair is connected to the BLACK/YELLOW terminals on the jack that you will be plugging the dataset into.

Good luck.

Get an 1103 standalone - works fine - programming pretty easy. You can find used ones around (in fact used might be all you can find) for not too much money. You didn't say what kind of PBX it is, but if you don't already have a Digital line card in the system you will need one to run the dataset.
