My first time to install the Express Messenger. I am looking at the documentation and it says insert the card but it does not say if it can be inserted with the system powered up. Help Please.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can do that but I would prefer otherwise.

Turn the system down - there is no sense in taking a chance. Just schedule it - will only be down for a couple of minutes at the most.

The exp. messenger is identical to any of the Mitel peripheral cards. Power on is not a problem.

Ditto with fifty5footer... it's basically a digital line card with the voicemail built onto it. I've never had a problem pulling or inserting them hot.

Yeah, well... a few hard knocks to the head probably had something to do with it, too...

While I agree that inserting it hot should not be a problem unless it is a situation where the switch cannot be turned down for two minutes I would still power down first.
