Hey all, just picked up an LCD console, but have discovered that it may not work on SX-200 ICP.
What i don't know is "what won't work". For the most part, i just want to be able to do call forwards.
It don't have to act like a Superconsole or take calls etc.
My telco bud said that I could hook it up to a digital port and then make it a console.
But I think i want more info.
Thanks!
Jim

It ran off of the universal card in a SX-200D. Definately won't run on a ICP.

The LCD console does work on the icp's. You just need a universal card and the console module. Good old Mitel makes almost everything reverse compatible!!

The old SX200D consoles use 4 conductors to operate and it needs the console module that is plugged into the universal card. The new consoles use Digital card and works on 1 pair only. If you have a console that only requires 1 pair then it will work on SX200ICP. I hope this helps.

Hi Joe, thanks for your input, I'm not sure how to tell if this LCD console i have needs the 2 or 4 wire configuration.
I spoke with someone local he agreed with what you said and also said if it does not work, it should not blow anything up.
If this is of value to you tho, here are the part numbers:
LCD CONSOLE 9108-007001-NA REV A.1 Power Input 48V/35mA
it does have 4 leads on the line jack, but they may not all be in use.
I more maintain this system then do major stuff with it. Before i give it a digital circuit, what should i set the "set type" too?
And I guess I'll need to do something in form 7?
As mentioned, i don't want this to act as a reception console, just for me to do the call forwards etc.
Thanks!!
Jim

Hey Jim. Go to form 7 and take a look what position is your Console at (Bay, Slot, Circuit). If it's Digital card then one pair, if Universal card-two pair. Easy.

The 'LCD Console'(9108-007-00?)operates on a 2 pair configuration. It needs to be connected to a 'console module' that rides on a universal card. The universal card need to be installed into a peripheral node. The peripheral node needs to be attached to the icp controller. The console gets programmed in form #7 by assigning it an extension number, and a class of service. It's worked that way since the mid 80s, (SX200 Digital)and continues to work the same way today (SX200icp).

Program the following: System Configuration Console Assignment Console LDN Assignment
You can click on “Equipment†at the top of this page, the Mitel link will bring up Mitel SX200 Digital cards. You need the Console DLIC Module and a Universal card. You will also need to cross connect the 2 pair and wire it to a jack.
