I have done this umpteen times (working mainly with hotels who want to be able to transfer calls to central reservations during busy times at the Front Desk)and also setting up speed dial bins for speed dial keys on the room phones. You absolutely must put the ARS access code in the dialed digit string in form 31, If you don't and happen to have a room 180, 186, 187, or 188 they are going to be getting a TON of calls (depending on what toll free numbers you program.

TDS makes a good point - we never asked - we just followed the first answer to the post. That being said we have been answering based on it being a 200D and later.

That's what happens when someone asks a question, we reply 20 times, and get no feedback. The topic takes on a life it's own!!!

Mr Resale and Mr Fifty5footer give it a try in your lab personal speed dials require a 9 and the number, system speed dials do not. At one time this caused toll fraud thus it was one of the reasons for creating system option 32. The Mitel software know's that when forwarding external and using abbreviated dial to insert a 9 or what ever your ars access code is.

Ok. My speed dial access code is 7, the bin number is 53 (96109336810). I call forward extension 105 to the speed dial bin. I go to another extension, dial 105, and our main phone number rings I delete the 9 from the speed dial bin, dial 105, and ext. 610 rings. Where am I making the mistake?

Hi, 55' ... I have seen GSW (general system wierdness) at times with DIDs when the dialed number does not match an extension, so if you wanted to be thorough, you could try it using an area code that doesn't match an extension on your system. It still should default to your form 19 setting for vacant extension...
Just a thought.

Well under Form 31 ( System Abrev..)
I programmed a number:
Index # 12, Digit String, 918005554355
and market it private.
I made sure my options earlier were okay, the ones above u posted were enabled.
For Form 2 I changed my feature code for abbreviated dial to 7 from #5.
I go to my Superconsole 1000, I see extention 201 isnt in use, so i just setup call forward all time to 712 and now it works. It sends calls outside.

I was so wrong, I was able to forward calls from one extension to the extension outside. I can dial the extension and have it send to my 1800 number. But when i get a call and try to forward it to that extension it says Cant. I missed something.

Wow I forgot to enable trunk to trunk, I could do it as 712, or set always forward 201 to 712. Eitherway it works great! I tested it on incoming calls and now people can dial an extension for my cell number You guys are great!
