Does anybody know a work around for this? I have seen this in old and right on to a 3300.
The inbound call is answered by auto attendant, the caller picks choice 3, which is ext. 8808. It goes to the ext and rings for the RNA timer and then goes back to the AA. It will not follow the ext forwarding that tells it to go to VM. If the call is live answered and tranfered, it follows the forwarding to VM.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have a solution, but it appears that voicemail is supervising transfer and needs to be set for blind.

I think John hit the nail on the head - whenever I have seen this problem it is because the VM is not doing blind or unsupervised transfer. If the transfer is unsupervised it will follow all forwarding - the only time it would recall to the AA is if there is no forwarding set up on the extension to which the call is transferred and then it will recall to the extension that transferred the call once the time has been exceeded.

Thanks for the input. I will check to see if the VM is supervising the transfer.
I will let you know what I find.

Depending on the version you may just have to change the transfer method to supervised bump up the timer and then change it back to unsupervised. This is done from the admin mb. I have seen this in more then a few 3300's
