Maybe someone will do a trade of services & help you out. I think you can busy out the trunk at the console (that info is in the attendant console guide) , but you will need the trunk number.

Erin: This information won't be in a user's or administrator's guide. Why do you need to remove the line from the phone? If it has been disconnected, I'd say just leave it at that.

Well it is giving us some problems when we try to make phone calls, it wont ring and then you have to hang up and try again sometimes 3 or 4 times before the call will go through and my boss thinks it is because the phone is trying to find a working phone line??!

you should be able to just busy the phone line out from the console. If you can determine which trunk number is hitting dead air just dial *41 and the trunk number. This information is predicated on the fact that the ability to busy out trunks was enabled when the system was programed and the attendant function access code was not changed. this will also put -EQP Busy in your display and it will stay there.
If you cant make this work then you really need to get a tech to visit the site or work with you remotely because the SX 50 is very difficult to program and very easy to mess up.

Based on you comment about having to try 3 or 4 times to make a call, you may have other problems. I'd say it's time for a qualified technician to do a little work. John C.

I second what Lightninghorse says. I understand everyone's desire to save a few dollars. If trying do so causes yours local tech's business to fail, where will you be in the long run?
I'm sure contacting your local qualified tech, will benefit you both.
