Has bulk Cat5e taken a significant (or any) price increase over the last month or so?

I have noticed about a 10% increase on CAT3 plenum recently, but not so much on 5e.

Graybar just announced a big price increase for May.

Buy NOW. In all fairness copper has about doubled recently, the chinese do have to buy copper to make the Cat 5e they sell us.

Transportation has gone way up, just look at the cost of gas.

Exxon is gouging our eyes out but I think the cable makers in the US (Bless Them) and offshore have to make money to stay in business. I won't like the price increase, but I do want them to have cable there when I need to buy it.

I just got a bunch of CAT3 plenum in here last week at $7X. I went to order more today, the same supplier announced that it has increased immediately to $8X. That's about 20% just this time and it had already increased a few months back. I think we are in for quite a ride with crude oil and gasoline prices having a ripple effect for the next few years.

Entirely believable. It all depends on the supplier. Some of the electrical houses have gone to daily or even hourly quotes for wire!

Copper is a commodity that is in high demand. Hmm, that sounds familiar. wink
