Rookie trying to get SMDR from a 200ICP to an old serial device. Have a Precidia ipocket232 to convert our socket connection to serial. Sort of banging the old head trying to get this to work. Finally started doing packet captures to check smdr and surprise, we are not getting any output via the socket - good smdr in smdr monitor.
Think we are missing something to get it sent out to our socket. Thought we had it set up in forms 29 and 34 but...Suggestions?
Post or PM would be great.
Thanks,
Bruce

Are you monitoring via telnet with the precidia out of the loop? If so make sure you have SMDR enabled in the trunk group (form 16). In form 11 also make sure you have everything forced high in the circuit descriptor and make sure you have the min, max, and default baud rate set to the baud you want with the correct data bits, stop bits, etc and no flow control.

Where is the other old serial device located? If it is near the 200 you couls use the 9 pin printer port and forget the Precidia.

SUCCESS! Great help, once again from the board. dane, we needed the advice on form 11 and 34, which was the issue on the 200. Once the Pecidia was tweaked (thanks Panda), we were good to go.
Thanks again.
Bruce
