Hi All -

So I'm programming up an SX-200 5.0.18 release and need 2 and 3 digit extensions. I had no trouble inserting 2 digit extensions in Form 9, but I'm running into trouble with the Express Messenger portion. I know I have the option of either 2 - 5 digits, but is it possible to have both 2 and 3 digit mailboxes?

Thanks!

If you have peripheral nodes, you could add a seperate express messenger.

Ah that would be an idea, however I'm using ASU II bays instead of Per nodes on my install.

I believe you can- have you mailbox size set for 3 digit. I would try it but make sure your 2 and 3 digits do not have conflicting digits
I.E. MB 10-49 and 500-899

Also - you could also use the embedded vm and seperate your VM Hunt Groups via for 19

Thanks for the replies. smile

I have the mailbox size set for 3 digit in Form 49. I doesn't let me insert 20 for instance in the MBOX# field, I can do it for extension.
So I tried using an unused number such as 520 for MBOX# and 20 for Extension, however when I try then to access the VM I am prompted for the mailbox number. I type 520 and it said the mailbox was not valid. The only thing I haven't tried yet is actually calling it from the extension that I'm trying to program, rather just dialing the hunt group number from the console.

Well. Just gotta remember to check-in a guest mailbox before it will work. I won't have to worry about inbound AA in my case, so what I wrote above actually will work.

Note to any who use two digit extensions. There's a bug in the vmail / AA that makes the EMM listen for three digits so there's a lengthy pause after dialing an extension / mbox. Using the 2-digit and a # speeds things up.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
